SHARON CHAPTER OF HADASSAH The chapter's meeting venue is Temple Shalom. We meet on the fourth Wednesday of each month. On evThe primary purpose of the chapter is to raise funds for the two hospitals in Jerusalem at Mount Scopus and EinKerem. Hadassah also supports a medical school, a nursing school, Youth Aliyah for children at risk, as well as camps for children in Israel and the United States. In addition to celebrating 100 years of healing through groundbreaking medical research and treatment, Hadassah also is involved in tree plantings and land reclamation projects to protect Israel's natural resources, and in advocating for causes important to American Jews and women. We hold interesting meetings that offer either education or entertainment and always something good to eat. Come and visit! If you are a past, present, or future member of Hadassah and are interested in joining us, or would like more information, please call Odette Port at 941-505-1409 or email her at oleviport@yahoo.com.

SISTERHOOD

The women of Temple Shalom's Sisterhood consider themselves the "Heart" of the Temple. Our most important job is to either sponsor or help set up Friday night "Onegs", (i.e. offer refreshments after our services.) We also help implement holiday dinners - such as the Passover Seder and the Break-the-Fast after Yom Kippur, or Day of Atonement. We also run the Gift Shop, distribute the Temple Calendar and give gifts to the Bar and Bat Mitzvah young people, and provide repasts after a funeral. In addition, we have a very popular game day each year.

If you are a past, present, or future member of Temple Shalom and are interested in joining us, or would like more information, please call the Temple officeat 941-625-2116.
